Our Mission

Together We Can Change The World

At MHD App our goal is to significantly reduce food waste by giving hotels, restaurants and retailers a simple tool to keep reliable track of best-before dates.

The Problem We're Solving

Every year roughly a third of all food produced for human consumption is wasted worldwide — about 1.3 billion tonnes that never reach a plate. A significant share of that arises in businesses, because products expire before they are used.

This waste has enormous environmental, economic, and social costs:

  • Food waste is responsible for 8-10% of global greenhouse gas emissions
  • The economic cost of food waste amounts to nearly $1 trillion dollars annually
  • While millions of tonnes of food are discarded, nearly 828 million people go hungry worldwide
  • Wasted food consumes a quarter of all water used in agriculture and requires land area the size of China

Our Solution

MHD App helps businesses track the best-before dates of their products, act in time, and make informed decisions about purchasing and consumption.

Our platform offers:

  • Notifications that warn you before products expire
  • Clear management of your products by category and workplace
  • A barcode scanner that fills in product data automatically
  • Insights into waste avoided and stock value saved

Our Vision

We envision a world where food waste is minimised and resources are used efficiently. By helping businesses keep reliable track of their products and their shelf life, we aim to:

  • To contribute to the UN goal of halving food waste by 2030 (SDG 12.3)
  • Decrease the carbon footprint associated with food production and waste
  • Promote more conscious consumption habits globally
  • To help businesses write off less stock

Environmental Impact

Reduce Carbon Footprint

By reducing food waste, we directly decrease greenhouse gas emissions associated with food production, transportation, and disposal.

Conserve Water

Food production requires enormous amounts of water. By reducing waste, we help conserve this precious resource and protect water ecosystems.

Save Energy

The energy used to produce, transport, store, and prepare food that ultimately goes to waste contributes significantly to global energy consumption.
